Top 10 Tips for Finding the Best Winter Jumpers

Winter has arrived in Western Australia with wild squally storms, and I’m pulling out my warm winter jumpers, along with my leggings, ponte pants, boots, cardigans, coats and jackets. I actually love winter from a fashion point of view, because I love layering.

So as you can imagine, I’ve also been looking around my favourite stores and websites for a few new additions to add to this season’s collection.

Winter Jumpers To Love and Live In

The bold stripes give it a chic and sophisticated look, and the relaxed, longer fit maintain decorum around the bum and tum areas. It has a high crew neckline, long sleeves and the fabric (viscose, wool and elastane) is soft and feels cosy.

It’s perfect for layering. You can pop on a tee-shirt or a thermal undergarment underneath and off you go, as I did for a lovely walk around a local, bird filled wetland.

Mayanna Jumper

Next up is the gifted Mayanna Jumper.

This is a light weight, knit jumper, with long sleeves, a V neck, and side splits.

I chose it in a beautiful soft rose colour, but it also comes in sky blue and sage green which I also liked very much.

The Mayanna is made with super soft fabric (acrylic and wool) and is really an easy slip on and wear item.

It’s a relaxed design that allows you to move freely, and it hangs nicely too.

Again, I especially like that it hangs low in my derriere region. It’s a classy basic addition if you’re creating a working capsule wardrobe this winter.

Top 10 Tips for Finding the Best Winter Jumpers

Obviously personal preference, and following your heart are top priorities when it comes to choosing any fashion item, but it’s worth considering some basic tips when you’re buying jumpers for winter.

1. Material Matters: If you can then do choose jumpers made with high-quality materials such as wool, cashmere, or merino wool. These materials provide excellent insulation, keeping you warm without overheating.
2. Check the Fabric Blend: While pure wool or cashmere is luxurious and warm, a blend with synthetic fibres like nylon or acrylic can increase durability and reduce pilling, making the jumper more long-lasting.
3. Fit and Style: Some people prefer oversized, chunky knits for a cozy feel, while others might like a more tailored look that fits snugly under a coat.
