I not only love the feel of bamboo fabric, but wearing bamboo clothing makes me feel good, because it’s eco friendly, sustainable and bio-degradable.

Women’s Bamboo Clothing
Clothes made from bamboo are often mixed with rayon, cotton or spandex.
The 95% bamboo fabric top I’m wearing below, is mixed with 5% spandex, and it’s really soft and pleasant to wear.
I’ve teamed it with Vivid International three quarter length everyday pants in a soft safari green and my ever ready POLLY sneakers by FRANKiE4.

Basically, this bamboo shirt is a long-cap-sleeve-T of generous proportions that would go just as well with white pants too. The bamboo spandex fabric gives it a slight stretch, with a soft silky overall feel.
In the photo below, model Alicia is wearing the swing top version of the bamboo fabric T. She’s teamed it with white capri pants and high heels to give a slightly dressier look.
I love the slightly longer sleeves and the beautiful swing style bottom of this version of the bamboo t shirt – it’s a design which will flatter most body shapes.

Why is Bamboo fabric so lovely.
Bamboo fabric is known to be more absorbent than cotton.
Bamboo material is generally resilient and durable.
Bamboo cloth is breathable and helps regulate your temperature, which means it will help keep you cool in summer and warm in winter.
Bamboo fibre is gentler than many manmade fibres.
Cheers to all that!

What is Bamboo textile exactly?
According to Wikipedia …
“A bamboo textile is cloth, yarn, or clothing that is made from bamboo fibres. While historically used only for structural elements, such as bustles and the ribs of corsets, in recent years, different technologies have been developed that allow bamboo fibre to be used for a wide range of textile and fashion applications. Bamboo yarn can also be blended with other textile fibres such as hemp or spandex. Bamboo is an alternative to plastic, which is renewable and can be replenished at a fast rate.”

Alicia and I are both wearing a size 10 in two different styles of bamboo t shirts.
Mine is a straight T with a higher neckline.
Alicia’s is a swing top T with a scoop neckline.
Alicia is is 175cm/5″9 tall and I’m 5’3″ and 162cm tall.
Bamboo Fabric T shirts
The bamboo fabric t shirts are 95% bamboo and 5% spandex.
The swing top version is great top for everyday wear and has a flattering cut.
It’s called The Sara Swing Top.
The high bamboo constituent means it should be cool to wear on warmer days, and warm to wear on cooler days. Pair this style with white pants and some classic flats for a summer fresh look or depending where in the world you are, wear it with ankle boots for Autumn.

Hi Jo! So pleased to read your article on Bamboo fabric. Its here too, so far only in Health shops and plain black or white T’s and cammies, socks and boxers.
It feels lovely and looks to keep its shape. Eco- friendly being an important factor.
Now then, Santa!

I agree, it’s such a gorgeous fabric Faye! Here’s to Bamboo and yes, Hello Santa!
Hi Jo as always you look lovely and I do like the colours and design of your swing top. I actually didn’t realise bamboo fabric existed – that shows how much of a fashionista I am LOL:) Thanks for sharing at #MLSTL and good lucky with the new venture with Vivid International. xx
Hi Sue, thank you ๐ Yes, bamboo is an amazing fabric to wear – and it has such a lovely feel to it. You should try it out sometime ๐
I have never heard of making clothes with bamboo before. How interesting! Such a pretty top. Visiting from MSTL.
Hi Amy, thank you. Yes give bamboo a try – let me know what you think.
I love the look of that top Jo, and the slightly flared hem. Are these tops close fitting? What is the sizing like? Thanks Jo.
It’s a lovely top Jo – but WAY out of my price range for a tee shirt. I’ll just admire it and keep buying my cheaper cotton ones until I become more well heeled ๐
MLSTL and I’ve shared on my SM ๐
Hi Leanne, thank you. I guess I should say that it’s a bit more than just a tee, and the bamboo fabric I think is what makes it pricier.
Bamboo is often used in sheets now – beautifully soft. I do love natural fabrics!
Hi Christine, yes – I bought some the other day for the spare room, and wished I’d bought some for our bed as well. They feel so lovely don’t they?
Hi Jo,
Well, I’ve learnt something new today – Bamboo is a fabric ๐ I’ll have to keep my eyes out for this next time I’m shopping for clothes (which isn’t very often – the older I get the less I shop!).
Thanks for the post, you look lovely and so do your clothes.
Have a nice week!
Cheryl
Hi Cheryl, Thank you ๐ I was also fascinated to find out a little more about bamboo and its benefits in clothes. I’m definitely going to look out for more bamboo for it’s cooling and warming properties. Glad you enjoyed this post too ๐
