Plus I discovered some of the best air fryers and most affordable large air fryer models you can buy online.
I’ve found out that a large air fryer is probably the best model to choose overall, and it really can enhance your culinary lifestyle! Read on!

Can a large air fryer make a difference to your life?
There are advantages to buying a large capacity air fryer over a small one.
- It will save you time.
- You can cook different foods quickly in large batches.
- You’ll be able to cook lower fat meals for the whole family – including French fries!
- You’ll get more bang for your buck.
- You’ll be able to cook multiple dishes at once because generally large air fryers come with extra compartments to fit different trays.
- You can cook for a group of people at the same time (such as a whole chicken and vegetables) allowing you more quality time to spend together.
- Saves you cleaning up multiple pots and pans.
What Size is a Large Air Fryer?
A large air fryer should have a size of 5.3 to 6 quarts and over.
What size Air Fryer do I need?
As the basket size gets bigger so you can cook in bigger batches.
Depending on the portion sizes you prefer you should probably be looking at the following:-
- 5 quarts should feed about 3 people.
- 5.3 quarts should be enough for 4 people.
- Around 7 to 8 quarts should feed up to 8 people.
What size is a Quart?
To help you estimate how much food you can cook in your air fryer you need to know how big a quart is – I know I did!
1 quart is equal to:-
- 1/4 of a gallon
- 4 cups
- 0.95L
- 2 pints
Wikipedia says that, “The quart (symbol: qt) is an English unit of volume equal to a quarter gallon. Three kinds of quarts are currently used: the liquid quart and dry quart of the US customary system and the imperial quart of the British imperial system. All are roughly equal to one liter. It is divided into two pints or (in the US) four cups.”
What is an Air Fryer?
“An air fryer is a small countertop convection oven designed to simulate deep frying without submerging the food in oil. A fan circulates hot air at high speed, producing a crisp layer via browning reactions such as the Maillard reaction. Some reviews have found that regular convection ovens or convection toaster ovens produce better results.” Wikipedia
- It’s about the size of a coffee maker.
- Air fryers are devices that can sit on your countertop.
- You can cook practically anything in them that you would normally fry in oil.
- They’re best known for creating healthier options to fried food favourites like chips/French fries or fried chicken.
- Some models can also roast, steam, grill and bake food.
How does an Air Fryer work?
“Air fryers are small ovens with a highly concentrated heat source and powerful fan that moves the hot air around to crisp up wings, fries, veggies and more air-fried recipes with little (or zero!) oil. They create a nice “fried” finish that your oven range can’t compete with, as well as, reheating results that blow away the average microwave.
Plus, an air fryer requires only a small amount of oil to make foods crispy with a fraction of the calories and fat of traditional cooking methods, like deep frying.”

I agree with that, air fryer could make your life better. It is easy to use and very convenient. Less mess love this post!
Hi Jo, I’m a huge fan of air fryers. I first one had a paddle that rotated and stirred the chips which was so convenient, just turn it on and forget about it til it pinged and the food was ready.
When that eventually died I bought one online that just has the basket (no paddle) so food has to be shaken up or turned, but that means we can cook just about anything in it, from meat to zucchini chips and everything in between. I use it constantly and just wish I’d gotten a bigger one!
I love how you cook so many things in your air fryer, Janet! A friend of mine even bakes cakes in hers. It sounds as if you are an absolute expert, and I should really come to you for some advice 🙂
This air fryer is better especially for celebrations, and the price is not bad for a big air fryer at only 157usd. I also love the compact design.
Not sure which air fryer in this post you’re alluding to?
