There’s just something about nautical clothing that makes you stand out above the crowd. I think it’s because nautical style is so fresh and bright, and just a little bit Parisienne.
When it comes to womens nautical clothing whether it be blouses or dresses, I say don’t be afraid to wear horizontal stripes.
Out out damn argument about stripes making you look wider. It’s all about your can-do-attitude and the items you choose to wear with those stripes.
Red and White Nautical Clothing
The red and white striped blouse I’m wearing is from Vivid International (shop online with code LSFTAKE30 for 30% discount)

This stripey red and white nautical top * is a beautiful fit, with a lovely floaty chiffon hemline which subtly covers bum and tum.
It was just the ticket for an outing to beautiful Cape Lodge in Margaret River the other day.
How to wear Nautical Clothing
The trick is not to overdo the stripes. So if you’re top is stripey go for plain bottoms.
You could wear the red and white stripey top shown here with slim fitting capri pants *, ponte pants or in winter, jeggings and skinny jeans too.
I’ve chosen to team the red and white nautical top with white capri pants, and my flavour of the month POLLY sneakers from FRANKiE4 *. See above in the recent Instagram post.
Beautiful model, Alicia, has popped on some strappy sandals for a more dressy look.

The Beauty of Nautical Clothing
Nautical inspired clothes are fresh and bright and add a little razzle dazzle to your wardrobe.
They make you think of days at sea or sipping cocktails on a private yacht docked in the Mediterranean (I wish!).
Whether you’re about to go on a cruise, or have a picnic at the beach, you can’t go wrong with nautical clothing.
It’s usually around the beginning of summer that you’ll start to see the nautical look appearing in the stores. Red and white, or blue and white combos often with white stripes – or there may be an anchor or two as well.

That’s not to say the idea of sailing on blue open seas should be combined to summertime – pop on some nautical inspired clothing in winter to bring back the idea of summer holidays and seascapes. It’s such a chic look that you can’t go wrong.
Why not add some fun items of nautical clothing for a bright nautical look to float your boat this season.

What nautical inspired clothing do you already have in your wardrobe?
You look great! I’m not sure I could pull it off, but you look great–so summery and fresh. We’re just entering the cold, dark season here, so this post was a breath of fresh air. Thanks!

Hi Christie, thank you 🙂 … ohh as the temperature soared for the first time this year yesterday and I was so hot all night, I think a little of your cold would be welcome here. Wrap up, and enjoy a little hibernation if you can 🙂
