Every now and then I catch sight of myself in the mirror when I haven’t sort of composed my face into a nice uplifted grin that pulls up my downward-dog gravitational wrinkles.
And I think: Who is that woman?
Yikes! I didn’t plan on ageing this way. That marionette line and that sagging jowl were not in the plan.
Out out damn spot and sagging jowl!
But we don’t have any choice really, do we, and sagging skin combined with wrinkles are probably the most noticeable signs of ageing.
I expect you agree that you can get wrinkles much earlier on from being in the sun too much and squinting or even smiling, and in a way these should be considered ‘life lines’, but dull sagging skin also comes with getting older.
Who wants it?
Not me.
Although I don’t want to look ridiculously, foolishly young for my age either.
At the end of the day I have no intention of going for invasive surgery of any kind, so ultimately I’ll accept my old face with grace as it changes over the years.
But what I do intend doing is looking after it as best I can, and for as long as I can.
Over the years I’ve used lots of skin products. Some I’ve loved (and found too expensive), some I’ve disliked because they’ve brought me out in spots, some make my eyes weep, and some have been just okay.
For the last year I’ve been using Nu Skin products, and they are just right for me.
Now I know that Before and After type photos can be manipulated, and so I’ve decided not to show any.
Anyway, in addition to the staples I use daily below, I periodically use the Galvanic Spa but that’s for another post.
Here are the daily staples which make up my skin routine.
These are my everyday products
- Ageloc Gentle Cleanse and Tone. It’s a foaming cleanser that combines cleansing and toning in one step.
- Ageloc Radiant Day with Sunscreen.
- Ageloc Transforming Night.

I use QV Cream. It seems to suit my skin. You’re looking great Jo so the product works well for you. Keep it up and you’ll be looking as great as your Mum does when you are her age. I think living in England would be less stressful for skin than living in Australia though!
Johanna
Hi Jan, I think you’re probably right, although today with gale force wind lashing my face every time I step outside, I’m not so sure ๐ Thank you for the compliment too.
Johanna
Thanks for that confirm, Kathy. I really do think they’ve made a difference, but it’s subjective until other people confer too, I feel. Hope the products work for you too ๐

Wow! I can really see the difference. I really hate looking in the mirror these days, but I keep telling myself that I’m not a spring chicken anymore (unfortunately!) I will definitely check these products out. Thanks Jo. ๐

Looks like you’re getting some great results from these products Jo. Your skin looks lovely ๐
Johanna
Thanks Lyndall. I do think they are working ๐
Janet aka Middle Aged Mama
I think it’s definitely made a difference to your complexion, so it’s not just you!
Johanna
Thanks Janet, it’s great to get a second opinion. Dave thinks my skin looks better now than it did a few years ago, but I think he might be a bit biased ๐
Liz (Good Things)
I use Olay… very gentle on my sensitive skin… and keeps me looking young x
Johanna
I used to be an Olay girl too Liz – your skin looks lovely.
