I don’t know about you, but I struggle much more to find good fitting bottoms, than I do tops which I like to wear. How to wear slim fitting jeans, and what to wear with them always makes me fish around in my wardrobe for a few minutes longer than I should, especially deciding which jeans to wear (and ahem, will they still fit me.)
The old saying, “Does my bum look big in this,” is not my only worry these days, when the tum and hips are a little on the wavy side too.
But so what? As long as we’re healthy and fit we shouldn’t be sweating about being ‘model-like’, ย we should just sweat (in a good physical way) and also try to be the best version of ourselves as possible.
It also goes without saying that ladies of a certain age really do benefit from a little personal love and care. The ‘before version’ of me, above left, dressed for a comfy womfy session on my arse in front of the computer, is quite different to the spruced up version ready to go out for coffee with a friend, on the right.
The top you choose should just cover your bottom which eliminates any embarassment at the front too. I prefer a cardi that’s loose and has a bit of a swing to it, and I’d wear both ankle boots or long boots with slim fitting jeans in winter and on cooler days.

How to Wear Ponte Pants and look a million dollars
I know a lot of you like Millers Fashions, and so I’ve created a similar look without costing too much from Millers onlineย .
At the time of writing, the look below (jeans, top, boots) will cost you $79 all up without the handbag. The bag in the featured picture at the top of the post, is $30 with at 50% discount if you buy a second bag right now.
I love the pastel coral rose colour of the cardi-top, and I think the two-in-one look is flattering. The jeans are easy fit with an elastic waistband and they’re stretchy. The little ankle boots are cute and very ‘in’ at the moment. Check out all the lovely FRANKiE4 Footwear styles here.
With free delivery on orders of over $60 you can’t go wrong really, especially as there’s also a free 30 day return to store policy if they’re the wrong size for you.
What are you waiting for?
Oh, and don’t forget to send me your own before and after photos, if you’d like to be featured in the next blog post.

I am a huge fan of Slim Fit Jeans- I have been toying with the latest additions lately, but jeans are still my BIG favorite. I am not sure how I could get dressed everyday without a pair of jeans. I admit I fall in and out of love with each of my pairs of jeans constantly โ I am not going to fess up just yet as to how many pairs there are
Love my slim jeans (although there are times when too much cake is involved that they don’t love me).

Jo this outfit looks just fabulous on you. I really admire that you have your own personal style worked out so beautifully.
Thanks Jo ๐ I don’t know that I have it all worked out, but I keep trying ๐
Hahaha, I had to read this post because of the title – I love slim fit jeans, but weirdly, the older I get the more I need to cover up!! The look you’ve created is very flattering – it’s great to know I can get it without spending a fortune!
Covering more up – It’s an occupational getting-older hazard I reckon Red! But I bet you rock the slim fit jeans look ๐
I love my skinny jeans because my legs are the slimmest part of me and I think I should highlight this fact! I like to wear long jumpers or flowy blouses and of course my tan ankle boots that I bought in Italy. I like the idea of the elasticised waisted jeans. I might need them soon! #TeamLovinLife
Hi Kathy, yes I agree – flaunt your good bits and cover up the bits you don’t like – then adorn the other bits with great accessories like Italian leather boots!
I’m never out of my skinny jeans hmmm I wondering if that’s a bad thing. Love the boots.
I don’t think so! And thank you ๐
I have never worn skinny jeans before, usually sticking with bootleg but I’m well aware that I may be a little stuck in my ways and old fashioned – which is why I very recently ordered some online that were on sale. They should arrive soon. It will be interesting to see whether I like them on me or not! They look fabulous on you Jo! Thanks for the tips on what to wear with them! I’m loving those Millers jeans with the elastic waistband. Comfort is so important to me these days and they look great too! ๐ #TeamLovinLife
I think Bootlegs are great too Min. I can’t wait to hear how your skinnys go though.
I’m not a fan of skinny jeans – it’s like getting into and out of a sausage skin! They do look great on you though and I’m a huge fan of Millers clothes because they are so affordable and they have great sales. That pink top in your suggestions is lovely.
HaHa Leanne! Sausage skin indeed, though I get your point if they’re really tight! Thank you though ๐
I tend not to wear slim fitting jeans or trousers as for some reason I feel as if bootleg cut suits larger proportions better, but I may be wrong about that. I keep thinking I need something wider at the bottom to balance out the larger butt and thighs! #teamlovinlife
I think bootlegs are great, especially if you are tall, Deborah ๐
A great look that you wear well- and so affordable too. #TeamLovinLife
Thanks Jo. Yes, a really affordable look. Amazing really.
