Each Thursday I’m going to write a post sharing with you some of the things that I’m loving about life, and invite you to think about what you’ve loved about life during the week that’s flown.
A sort of Thank You Universe letter. It might be a random selection of happiness or something specific that’s happened, or maybe even a story. Let’s face it, there are too many bad or sad things happening in the world. Life can be tough. But life can be beautiful too, and I think it’s important to celebrate the good things, the great moments, and the pleasant spaces in our daily lives, no matter how small they might be.
I’m very excited to be publishing this as part of the Lovin’ Life Linky hosted by lovely Leanne from Deep Fried Fruit – and four other really well known, accomplished bloggers (you can find out who they are, and find links to their blogs, at the end of this post).
So PLEASE hit the comments up with what’s making you happy this week, and if you’d like to link a blog post to Lovin’ Life then please do … you’ll see simple instructions at the end of this post.
Why I’m Lovin’ Life – Here Goes! Yay!
1. My immediate family are well and happy, and that makes me so so happy too. Yep, a big chunk of lovin’ life right there.
2. I’m sitting typing this looking over a beautiful lake with pelicans and black swans swimming by, right now.
3. I was on the radio again – Oh la la! Talking about style and wardrobe tips with Harvey and Jess on 6PR I’m lovin’ this strange new turn my life’s taken recently.
4. We had the privilege of staying at our friends’ country AirBnB below at Gelorup near Bunbury at the weekend. It is BEAUTIFUL! You can check it out Here: The Cottage Outside it’s really rural Australian, and inside it’s gorgeous classic country chic. What a wonderful place to kick back and relax deep in the South West countryside. Thank You!

Sundowners and snacks being prepared – wait! Wwwwhere is my wine?

The Cottage.
Gotta love country life too ๐

5. I live in a beautiful part of the world and as part of being a lifestyle blogger I’m so lucky to be invited to food and wine festivals like the Margaret River Gourmet Escape. So thank you Universe, I’m lovin’ this part of my life after 50.
I’m hoping to meet Nigella Lawson and Rick Stein this year. You can read more about where we live, and the Gourmet Escape on my other blog ZigaZag – Here (and there’s a link to where you can get tickets).
So that’s it for this week.
I’m Lovin’ “The Lovin’ Life Linky”. I hope you will too. Please share your wins and life loves in the comments, or join up with the linky if you like – read on for easy instructions.
We think about it I am sure there is lots we all can be grateful for. Right now I am trying to focus on getting fit and indulging my artistic passions. Have a fabulous week.
Getting fit and indulging artistic passions are the BEST focus, I think, Jill! You Go Girl!
I would definitely love staying at that cottage with a lovely view and of course a nice glass of Chardonnay. It’s wonderful to step back and be grateful for a week that goes by smoothly and just soooo nice like this post!
Hi Noel, yes it’s affirming to step back and show gratitude for the week that was – I was very lucky to have a week that went so smoothly ๐ Yep, that cottage is a keeper for weekends away ๐
Looks like you have a lot to be lovin. I’ve been travelling a bit through rural Australia and your Airbnb scenes capture it nicely.
Hi Rhonda, Ooh looks like you’ve been having a great trip too ๐
Such an exciting time in your life! Loving the idea of food and wine festival, I’ve not been to one yet. That cottage is dreamy!! Has me thinking about our next holiday.
Hi Nicole, yes it is and I’m treasuring every moment while it lasts. Hope you’re planning nice things for your next holiday?
I love that first pic of you Johanna! The colours are gorgeous and I’m insanely envious of your Rick / Nigella meeting. I’m SO not a foodie but love Rick Stein’s travel / cooking combo shows. There’s something so likeable about him!
And love the positivity most of all. (I need me some of that!)
Thanks Deb! Yes, aren’t Rick Stein’s travel/cooking shows the best? We used to live quite near to his Padstow restaurant once upon a time – but it was so expensive even back in the early 2000’s.
Thanks Janet ๐ Yes, it’s a great place to live – and still without great crowds. I hope you come back one day ๐
You’re right – you do live in a beautiful place. We loved the south west of WA when we were there 15 years ago. And I am thankful for the MBMG x
You are doing a fabulous job on your radio gigs Jo. You are an absolute natural. It is good to make time each day and reflect on what we can be grateful for and the big one is family and health. I’m really looking forward to participating in this weekly linky and bringing some positivity into my life and hopefully to others. ๐
Hi Kathy, thank you ๐ Yes, I agree about positivity. We have to ramp it up. Try to keep putting out great colourful vibes even when perhaps we’re feeling a bit blue.
HI Lyndall, and Thank You! It was a fun post to write, and writing a Thank You Letter to the Universe reminded me of just how much I have to be grateful for too ๐
Big congrats on your radio gig Jo – so exciting! I love the “Thank you letter to the Universe” concept too. I’m also grateful that my immediate family is safe and healthy at the moment. The cottage you stayed in is just gorgeous, and I love how you’ve included Guinness, the dog too ๐
Jo, I thoroughly enjoyed listening to you on the radio. I love your accent! Great style tips too! The cottage you stayed at is gorgeous – all country rural but modern with all the necessary amenities inside. Oh my gosh, it would be amazing to meet Nigella Lawson and Rick Stein. I hope you can manage it! One day I would love to visit your part of the world. I’ve yet to get over to that side of Australia!
Hello Min, thanks for listening to my radio chat ๐ I appreciate that very much x Oh, my accent – isn’t it funny how accents can define us, and they are almost impossible to change (unless you’re an actor!) We’ve lived in 11 different countries, and mine still hasn’t changed. I don’t know if that’s good or bad really ๐ We are what we are, I guess. Yes The Cottage is gorgeous – such a beautiful ‘away from the madding crowd’ experience – maybe you’ll experience it …when you come over this way one day, who knows! And you’ll have to visit us too of course ๐ Yep, if I get to meet either Nigella or Rick it will be amazing – I’d love to chat with them about food, and life passions and life over 50 stuff. Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog today ๐
Love this! Love this “thank you Universe” approach. Thanks for being part of the team!
Hi Leanne, Thank you! And thanks for having me on the team ๐
My blog A Sprinkle of Gratiitude is all about lovin life following a bike accident – I would love you to have a look.
Hello Jennifer! Yes, of course ๐ See you over at A Sprinkle of Gratitude later ๐
