When the boys at Sand Cloud approached me a few months ago, I was immediately attracted to their story.
Sand Cloud was founded in 2014 on the beaches of Southern California. The team is comprised of 3 best friends who reside in Sunny San Diego, who have an undying love for the simple life along the coast.
I was attracted to their gung-ho, get-up-and-go spirit, and wanted to help them get the word out there about their new Sand Cloud beach towels which are ideal for our Aussie beach-style summers.
“Good vibes, good energy, and good people are the perfect recipe for a good time,” says Bruno. “We are 3 best friends living together in San Diego, and we have turned our apartment into a makeshift office.”
Brandon and Steven had been roommates since their college days at San Diego State University, and they met Bruno right after moving to Pacific Beach. Recently graduated, the idea for the Sand Cloud towel came after a long day at work.
One of the founders was trying to take a nap on the beach, while using his backpack as a pillow.
(Been there, done that, so I know what he means!)
Unable to get comfortable, it became obvious that something needed to be done. They knew there had to be a better way to relax on the beach. The team made several prototypes, using a variety of towel materials, pillows, colors, and sizes. After a long process of trial and error they finally hit the nail on the head. They developed, a product that they want to share with the world.
The Sand Cloud lounge towel incorporates a cylinder pillow that provides head and neck support, but in a lightweight Turkish towel. The towel also doubles as a sarong, as the material become softer with every wash. It’s great for all “laying out” surfaces.
Eco friendly, and built to last, easy to pack, quick drying, gets softer with each wash. Colourful and versatile.
“Did we mention that they repel sand? Never use sand mounds, backpacks, or clothes as a pillow again!”

The groovy towels are lightweight and come in all different shades of ice cream colours and are truly delicious for summer on the beach or by the pool.
They’re also really versatile. I’ve been using mine to lie on and to dry off with when necessary, and I can see I’d also use it to wrap around my shoulders if I was having a sundowner on the beach and the night turned a bit nippy. Like I said, versatile. Wish I’d had one when I was back-packing all those years ago, but still, one day when we take off on the road trip around Australia in a caravan I can see they’ll be just as useful 😉
Sand Cloud towels retail at $32.50 – you can check them out Here… Sand Cloud
I also love the Sand Cloud philosophy: “We have a strong passion for giving back and protecting the Ocean, which is why we are donating 10% of net profits to several foundations that support the preservation of Marine Life. We want to make a difference in the way our Oceans are being preserved along with all of the beautiful marine life that inhabit our waters”
Herbalife Skin Care
I’ve also been using some new Herbalife skin care products from the skincare line Herbalife SKIN.
I’m loving the five-step programe which consists of 10 skincare products, some of which I’m trialling.
I’m using the Soothing Aloe Cleanser for normal to dry skin, the Line Minimizing Serum which I hope will help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, the Firming Eye Gel in the morning and the lovely Hydrating Eye Cream at night which helps improve the elasticity of the under eye area in particular.
I know it’s all a bit “Blah Blah Blah” but actually I can’t do without my face creams these days. One day without anything and I can feel the lines deepening and my skin drying out faster than the Serengeti.
So Wait there’s More … namely …
The Daily Glow Moisturiser and the Replenishing Night Cream.
Ooh, love a nourishing cream or two. Don’t you?
I haven’t used the Instant Reveal Berry Scrub which was also in the pack, because I thought I’d use it just before Christmas to remove dead skin cells and polish my skin up a bit so that I look fresh and refreshed even if I’ve had one Champas too many. This I’ll follow by the Purifying Mint ay Mask to tighten and tone. Reckon, that should do the trick. Christmas shenanigans and plump skin sorted.
I might be a little ancient, but hey, I don’t think there’s anything wrong in enjoying a first world product or two as we age.
So far I’m really enjoying the Herbalife skin care range and can’t wait to see if the results are visible from the small samples, from which probably bigger things may grow and be bought in the new year!
Disclaimer: I was gifted the Herbalife and sand cloud products for editorial consideration.
What products are you loving this week, that you’d like to share in the comments?
The Sand Cloud is a nifty idea and our faces certainly need more attention now days that’s for sure.
So agree Jan!
I love the pastel colours of the Sand Cloud Turkish towels. We actually bought some of these in Turkey and they are great. The product I like at the moment is my new Magic Bullet that I am whipping up the most divine fruit smoothies. With mangoes in season, I love a good banana & mango smoothie. Yum yum!
Ooh sounds Divine, Kathy! Coming over 😉
I’m loving those towels, wondering if I can get them before Christmas?
Maybe give it a go, Rae. It might still be possible.
Gotta love the solid foam noodles for the pool. The cheapies are ok but the solid ones can double as a bat for a bit of pool softball, especially good now that we have trained Dog to be fielder extraordinaire. Can’t wait for Grandie to get here for the summer. Reckon he is gonna love his.
Happy Christmas.
Enjoy your summer hols with the Grandies, Sue 🙂 How lovely.
