The age old question. “What should I wear today?”
We fling open the cupboard doors, and perhaps look at a sea of clothes and declare:
“Blimey, I have nothing to wear.”
Of course it isn’t so. There’s tons in the wardrobe. It just doesn’t seem appropriate.
What Should I Wear Today to make me feel great?
For everyday style I think having some garments which are plain, in block colours is essential.
It’s important to have some colour basics which you could team with prints if you wanted to, or accessorise with scarves and funky jewellery.
Take a gorgeous block colour, ruffle top like this one from Vivid International which skims the hips and tum, and hides any evidence of camels’ toes 😉 I love the way the ruffle effect also flatters a rounded tummy.
I love it – because it’s lightweight for summer, and it doesn’t need ironing. In fact once this garment is washed and almost dry, all you do is twist it as if you’re wringing it out, then knot it, and store it. You don’t even need a hanger! How’s that for a win – and an ideal travel staple too.
I’ve teamed it with skinny jeans and ankle boots from Millers, you could easily team it with wider cut off pants or capri pants and sneakers.
Add a white cardi, because white exudes glamour and offsets this colour beautifully.
One that has some give, and life and swing in it (and covers your bum). This one is from Vivid International.
And … Ready to go.
Tips for everyday style
This look would take me out for coffee, lunch or sundowners. How about you?
If you buy skinny jeans then make sure they are of the stretch variety, so that it’s easy and comfortable to sit down (!)
You could try this look with stretchy ponte pants which are so versatilve.
If you are teaming this look with cut-off pants you could go for either straight or tapered cut in the leg and wear it with sneakers (on trend) or summer sandals.
As this blouse covers bum and any evidence of camels’ toes at the front, you could on a hot summers day be forgiven for wearing it with (eek!) elasticated pants.

I love that blue top and the fact that it is so easy care. Win win. I’ve just checked Vivid International and see they have some country locations but not Bunbury – however Busselton is not far down the track and gives me another reason for a day trip. Happy weekend!
Hi Jill, yes a little road trip, a coffee perhaps and an outing to Vivid International – that would be a nice day out 🙂
The top is a lovely shade of blue and I like the idea that it is easy care. The white cardie is also gorgeous. It looks so light weight and ideal to wear as a cover-up on a cooler night or day.
Thanks Kathy – that colour blue would suit your colouring too I reckon 🙂 and I’m all for a cover up cardi for UV if necessary and for aircon situations.
