Hello my friends. Do you ever get stuck about what to wear on Christmas day? I do. So I thought I’d introduce you to three ladies Christmas dresses that I’m loving right now.
One is more formal, suitable as a Christmas cocktail dress or holiday party dress.
The second is one of those cute Christmas dresses that you’ll never want to take off.
And the third is effortlessly elegant just right for an evening Christmas dinner.

Formal Christmas Dress with Bolero Jacket
The blue Ivy Dress and Ivy Jacket below I think are just right for more formal Christmas luncheons.
I’d wear this ensemble in an air-conditioned room for a southern hemisphere Christmas lunch and also for a traditional family Christmas lunch (with all the roasty toasty trimmings) in England (with an overcoat on top to travel in).
The Ivy Dress and Ivy Jacket are currently available in blue and gold, beautiful jewel colours for ladies Christmas dresses this year.

The beauty of the Ivy dress is that it has a separate cute bolero jacket to match, which hides all manner of sins going on in the upper arm region.
Yes I’m talking about bat wing arms. Oh dear ๐ To tell you the truth I just flaunt ’em these days, let those tuck shop arms be free!
Holiday Dresses
I think holiday dresses should be of the take-me-anywhere-variety.
They need to double up as day and evening wear, and they absolutely must not need to see the face of an iron – ever!
The crinkle fabric, black and white, cotton, Portobello dress below just screams ‘summer’ and ‘holiday’ and ‘let’s be casual and cool’.
I absolutely love it. It’s so easy to wear, skims all your lumps and bumps and just well – let’s the air flow while being one of those cute Christmas dresses which is very pretty and classy, falling to just the right length.
I’ll definitely be wearing this dress around the pool on Christmas day.
For all of my friends in the Northern Hemisphere, this dress is one to buy and keep for your summertime. You won’t regret it.
I’ve teamed this lovely cotton Portobello dress with some strappy, velvet sandals which are comfortable but chic, and which take me from day to night really easily, but I would be just as happy wearing this dress with some white or black sneakers for a more relaxed look.

I’m also wearing my MVMT Rose Gold Watch (you can Join the MVMT Movement here) and my novel Fred Loves Jewellery silver ‘Peace’ chain.
Pop one on your Christmas tree as a gift to yourself this year!

Absolutely LOVE the turquoise dress with chiffon jacket on you. Gorgeous color … and something I’d want in my closet for ANY time of year! ๐
Thank you Camille ๐ Yes, that jewel like colour is absolutely stunning in an all block colour isn’t it. Thanks for popping by and Happy New Year to you and yours!
Hi Jo you always look lovely and I just adore the blue Ivy dress with matching bolero – so stylish. Thanks for inspiring me with some ideas for my Christmas dress although our Christmas day is usually a casual affair I’m sure I can find something suitable from your collection. Thank you for sharing and being part of the #MLSTL community. Have a great weekend xx
Hi Sue, Thank you. Yes I agree Christmas in Australia is much more casual. Did you see the little black and white dress – I thought that might suit you in Queensland.
I love the third outfit on you Jo – so elegant and the colour seems to be perfect for you. I haven’t even thought about Christmas Day wear yet, but we are going to be at my sister’s beach house, so it is going to be casual, which suits me perfectly. Have a lovely Christmas Jo.
Thanks Jill. Sounds like you are going to have a perfectly lovely casual beach Christmas Aussie style ๐ x
You show off clothes which such aplomb. Lovely to see and read your ideas for Christmas Jo. We are now having one part of our family visiting and I think I have the right outfit in mind.

Hi Denyse, thank you ๐ Oh have a lovely time with you family over Christmas and happy #everydaystyling ๐ You always look attractive in whatever you wear ๐
Such lovely Christmas dresses. We don’t really dress up too much for the holidays, so I usually wear a Christmas sweater and pants. Visiting from MLSTL
Hi Amy, it’s lovely to just chill in the holidays too. Not every day or occasion is dress up. In England we dress up for Christmas day with my family, but in Australia we might be in beach wear for most of the day and just glam up for dinner.
Your dresses are delightful Jo. I like the black and white one too, it looks so comfy for a summery day. The final blue one is gorgeous on you too! Just beautiful x #mlstl
Thank you Debbie ๐ I think the black and white one is a hit because it is so cool and comfortable for a hot Aussie summer. Thanks for your kind words ๐
You always look so lovely in everything Jo and that includes all three of these outfits. For myself, I would choose the black and white Portobello dress – for reasons you listed – skims the lumps and bumps and takes the pressure off having to suck in the tummy when eating all the Christmas offerings. Also it looks lovely and cool and easy to accessorise! Of course the fact I live in Queensland also might have something to do with this choice! ๐ xo
Hello Min. Awww, thank you – too kind. I think the Portobello dress is a great choice for a casual Christmas lunch of Boxing Day family get together – for you in Queensland especially ideal at this time of year ๐
Lovely outfits, Jo. It’s chilly where I am in the Northern Hemisphere so your outfit colours look warm and appealing. #MLSTL
Hi Natalie, thank you … and oh yes brrrr! Mum’s been telling me that the nights have closed well and truly in and it’s cold most of the time. I think the blue dress would be good for a family Christmas dinner in the Northern Hemisphere – as long as the central heating was on (usually is in my old family home).
Lovely dresses Jo – more dressy than the one I’ve bought for my family get together (here’s the link to what I bought – it will probably make my comment go to spam though – sigh …. https://www.millers.com.au/millers/shop/clothing/dresses/everyday-dresses/cap-sleeve-bling-front-dress/p/00145179_910) It’s on super duper sale atm – cheaper than what I paid (sigh again!) I love that Christmas is a good excuse to buy a Summery dress.
Hi Leanne, oh I hate it when you see something cheaper. We found shirts the other day at half price in a sale – and Dave had paid full price on my instruction when we went out (he hates clothes shopping). Oh dear ๐ Have looked at the link and you are going to look gorgeous in that dress. Exactly your colour.
That’s why I put the link in Jo – I was hoping for your feedback and I think it should be a good little dress for Boxing Day lunch with the family – and hopefully a bit more wear over the Summer months.
I loved that last blue dress and floaty cover that you’re wearing – just beautiful.
MLSTL and I’ve shared on my SM ๐
Thanks for sharing Leanne. Yes, your dress from Millers will be a winner on you for Boxing Day lunch with the family. Being tall you will pull that style off perfectly – and as I mentioned the colour is exactly ‘you’. Their designers couldn’t have chosen better for you. Thank you – yes, I’m a little in love with the floaty jacket and the colour of the dress in the last pic ๐
