I’m now well over 60 but I’m still into classy fashion. I’m also definitely an advocate of wear what you love, and I always encourage you to have FUN with whatever you choose to buy and wear.
Let’s get something straight. I’m not a style guru, or a fashion model. I’m a Granfluencer, helping women in the prime of their life (ahem) to take a chance on trying out new styles.
Being a Granfluencer is not glamorous! I don’t get invited to warm, stylised sets in studios set up for fashionistas and models, and then paid a fortune for the privilege.
Oh lordy no! This Granfluencer’s life is much more down to earth – dress for the occasion, and then strike a pose while the going’s good, sort of thing!
My long suffering hubby takes photos for me when I’m promoting a fashion brand, and I have to be ready for the perfect moment.
“Oh look!” He might say. “The sun’s shining. Great! Quick, go and stand over there by that railing facing the sea. Quick! There’s a cloud coming. Oh for goodness sake don’t look so wooden. Your face is in shadow! Turn around! Ditch the hat. No put the hat back on!” and so on and so forth!
We live for the day, and sieze the moments whenever we can. We had a lovely morning in Busselton the other day with our grandchildren. I managed to keep my clothes clean despite playing in the sandpit and ducking from ‘babychino’ sticky fingers.

Over 60 Classy Fashion Trends
I wanted to photograph Fella Hamiltons recently gifted clothes. I love the way that this brand keeps the older woman in mind. Clothes are made to mix and match, they fit well and are comfortable, they’re always classy, and also made to last.
So in-between children’s activities, my darling hubby took some photographs.

For instance, if wide-leg pants are in vogue, and you are short like me, then opt for a pair that’s high-waisted to make you look taller, and match them up with a shorter, crop top.
- Stick to a Neutral Palette with Pops of Color: I always say this, and never do it! Although I do love neutral colors I’m also a bit of a flamingo at heart – and that’s ok. But a neutral color palette is always in vogue and these type of tones will always mix or match. Of course, incorporating colors can be as simple as adding some trendy accessories. If you can manage to stick to a neutral wardrobe base and use accessories like scarves, shoes, or jewelry in bright colors to update your look, then you’re winning!
- Experiment with Accessories: Accessories are a fantastic way to try out new trends without making a full commitment. It’s easy these days to purchase statement necklaces, or chunky belts, or fabulous hats to jolly up your outfits.
- Focus on Fit and Comfort: Find fashion brands that you can rely on, those that make clothes that fit your body shape and are comfortable. Look for high-quality fabrics and well-constructed garments that make you feel comfortable and confident throughout the day.
