I think most of us dislike the ravages of getting older, and if you’re like me you try to keep fit, and you try and keep on top of your health, and appearance from a maintenance point of view at least. How to look younger at 50, or 60 and beyond is really more about maintaining what we’ve got to feel healthy and confident. But I do feel it gets harder as the years go by!
I was thinking the other day about the things we can do which should become habits, if they’re not already, that can literally take years of our looks, as well as help us feel confident and stronger as we age.

Cool Confidence
Of course at the crux of it all, it’s not all about how to look younger after 50. It’s all about confidence, which we can lose by increments as we get older.
Don’t tell me that you haven’t looked at women in their 30s and 40s and wondered how fast time has flown, along with your once thick luscious hair and creamy, dewy skin!
Our hormones changes as we get older and there’s not a lot we can do about it. Plus we are locked in to a set of genes, which are also going to play their part.
How to Look Younger Naturally at 50, 60, 70 and Beyond!
So don’t despair, fight the good fight ladies, and if you’ve ever asked what makes a woman look younger, and feel more confident, then read on – let’s rock getting older together.
Hair Today Gone Tomorrow
They say your hair is your crowning glory, but it may not be quite such a sparkling crown anymore. If you’re like me then it’s thinning and not as lustrous as it was before menopause.
So do find a hairdresser you trust, or one by recommendation and get a good hair cut regularly- one to suit your lifestyle and your age right now, not based on one you pick from a magazine that suits a model or movie star.
Fingers and Toes
Looking good and feeling confident very often is all in the detail. So why not book a manicure and a pedicure and get those talons looking tailored.
Brow Belicious
Thinning brows? We are at the age when our brows either thin or turn grey. Find a brow specialist and tuft up those tufties to look more full, and consequently more modern look.
Lips for Life
Ditch the dark lip liner. Opt for a natural lip liner and a soft peachy or rose lipstick to suit your complexion then top with a little lip gloss.
For a just there look I love these tinted lip balms from Nivea and use them everyday.
Blushing Pretty
A little bit of rosy blusher is all you need on the apple of your cheeks to give you a more youthful glow.
Try a creamy blusher rather than a powder blush for a more dewy look and younger looking skin.
Bronze up Baby!
I can’t do without my Rimmel Natural Bronzer, which I might apply with or without foundation underneath. For a quick healthy glow just brush over your face after moisturising, and layer-up a little more in the hollows of your cheeks for definition. It’s an instant pick-me-up!
Corporate Culled
Manly suits, office pencil skirts, padded shoulders should all go to the charity shop.
Instead opt for flattering frocks, or ponte pants (with lovely blouses on top). Blue jeans and white long sleeved shirts will give you an instant youthful appearance too.
And modernise your look with a pair of youthful, but comfy sneakers like these from my favourite footwear brand FRANKiE4.
Exercise Gently
If you haven’t already started walking or pilates or yoga – then begin an exercise routine that you are physically able to do and stick to – right now.

Find a Hobby
An engaged person is a more youthful person. Find something you enjoy doing that you can do for the rest of your life. For me it’s blogging. I love the creativity, the community, and the tech challenges (well, the technical headaches not so much!)
Maintenance Musts
Don’t forget your yearly check-ups will you? As we get older those dental checkups, mammograms, skin checks, cholesterol checks, and other checks associated with your own health become vitally important. It’s better to find something that might affect your wellbeing earlier than later, even if the appointments do mount up and feel inconvenient at times.
