Little nuggets of wisdom and motivational words. Do you love them?
I do, and I often turn to short inspirational quotes to help me through the day, to give me little confidence boosts and affirmation, especially when I’m feeling a little ‘down’.
I really enjoy inspirational quotes and affirmations that I can take into each new day because I find that a positive outlook can often colour how the day turns out.
Motivational Words
I think it’s something to do with consciously putting good thoughts into our heads that the sub conscious latches onto, which we then aspire to like a guided missile hones in on its target.
But helping others in some small way, a random act of kindness, just doing something small and meaningful for somebody else, or motivating or promoting others in a useful way, is also on my daily list.
Quotes for Guidance
I once knew a CEO of a successful software company who had his office walls plastered with inspiring quotes. Turns out he became a multi-millionaire.
So, anyway this girl is OK with something like that happening!
And I’m not against a few auto-suggestions pinned to the fridge or a quote or two stuck on a sticky note above my computer to give me some guidance throughout the day, especially when my hormones are going haywire and perhaps I’m finding it hard to concentrate.
Short Inspirational Quotes
Here are a few of my favourite daily suggestions which I hope will help remind you that you can be and deserve to be AWESOME.
- Don’t wait for the right moment.
- Be passionate.
- Build friendly networks.
- Take action.
- Don’t procrastinate
- Find some moments of silence
- Play it forward and do something good for someone else today.
- Know and manage your dress sense – dress well today and feel great.
- Get over trying to be perfect
- Make time for reflection
And …”Live as if this is all there is,” every day.
What nuggets of wisdom to helpย others live with intention could you add to this list?

The motivational quotes that I hang on my kitchen walls are giving me a boost every morning and help me smile throughout the whole day. My favourite inspirational quote is: make your life a masterpiece; imagine no limitations on what you can be, have or do.
Johanna
I love that quote Kate. What a great one to have on your wall to remind you.

Most people that know me would know that I am rather partial to a good quote! I’ve pinned your lists of short but inspiring quotes – love them! Really, really love the quote by Mary Ann Radmacher and it looks gorgeous on the lovely photo you took! #TeamLovinLife
Johanna
Mary’s quote is so insightful and inspiring isn’t it Min. Me too – I love a motivational quote or two to keep me uplifted.
Christie Hawkes
I love quotes, Jo. I’ve always loved words, especially when they are strung together in a way that sounds beautiful and inspires. Your photo is gorgeous. #MLSTL
Johanna
Thanks Christie – yes how they are strung together, words that is, makes all the difference. Mary’s words are lovely aren’t they ๐
Debbie
This is so encouraging Jo! I love quotes too and the ones you’ve noted are all very appropriate. I’ve pinned your image and I love find some moments of silence – we all get so busy with things that taking some quiet time is just what we need to recharge! #mlstl
Johanna
Thank you Debbie, and thanks for Pinning – much appreciated. Yes moments of silence, alone each day are important for me too.

I’m one of those people that loves motivational quotes and little inspirational messages. So much so that my children’s books each come with motivational postcards and wristbands. You’re speaking my language
Johanna
Hello Leanne, and thank you. Ahh love that your children’s books come with motivational postcards and wristbands ๐
Natalie
I like your list of Little Words of Wisdom and M. A. Radmacher quote. Every bit of positivity is good. Thanks, Jo, for sharing this. #teamlovinlife
Johanna
Hi Natalie, thanks for popping by and so glad you enjoyed the post.
Joanne Tracey
I love a good quote – they sing to you usually when you most need to be sung to. In my day job, one of my weekly tasks is the staff comms newsletter and I always seek out a quote for the week to include. It’s rarely a worky, business type of saying but more something around positivity. This week I’m using an Oprah quote: The more that you celebrate and praise your life, the more you’ll have to celebrate and praise in your life.
Johanna
Hi Jo, oh that’s a wonderful quote – thanks for inspiring me today ๐
Sue from Sizzling Towards 60 & Beyond
Inspirational quotes are so important, aren’t they Jo? Sometimes I fear people take them for granted but if you really ‘read’ and understand the message behind a quote it really can inspire and motivate us. Thank you for sharing some motivation with us at #MLSTL and I’ve pinned your Little Words of Wisdom. Have a great week! xx
Johanna
Hi Sue, yes I absolutely agree that you have to ‘read’ a message more deeply than just skim it for full effect and insight. Thank you so much for sharing and Pinning. I appreciate it ๐ x
Pat
I love inspirational quotes and actually have a morning coffee mug with “Find Joy in Each Day” that really helps remind me of that “being mindful” focus every morning. I also like “Today is Someday” since I’ve spent a lot of my life saying “I’ll do it someday”. I pinned your Photo/quote…love it! (Visiting via #MLSTL.)
Johanna
That’s a great quote to have on your coffee mug Pat ๐
Molly Stevens
Get over trying to be perfect resonates with me today, Jo. Iโm going to tape that to my computer! Thanks for the inspiring quotes. #MLSTL
Johanna
Me too Molly. It’s exhausting!
Leanne | www.crestingthehill.com.au
Jo I love quotes and pinned both your pictures with them on. Positive thoughts always help make the day that much better. I also particularly liked the friendly networks rather than competitive ones!
Thanks for linking up to MLSTL and Iโve shared on my SM
Johanna
Thanks so much Leanne. Yes, that one resonated with me as I wrote too ๐ BUT we are so lucky that the MLSTL tribe are supportive rather than competitive. I also kind of think that Blogging is about competing with ourselves rather than other bloggers. Everyone’s blogging path is different, and interesting in its own right.
cherie
I am working on the “take action, don’t procrastinate”.
Johanna
Good one Cherie!
Janet Scott
Love the photo Jo and the quotes. My favourite is ‘deal with problems don’t avoid them ‘ as I struggle with that.
Johanna
Thanks Janet. Me too, I’ll do anything to avoid facing problems rather than sorting them out – read, run, nap, blog, eat, arrange to have coffee with a friend! You name it! We need to be reminded ๐

gorgeous image and quotes Jo. I have a little pack of cards with quotes from Ruth Tearle. I was taking out a new one at random each day, but I have had this one out for a while now – “Be true to yourself and the world will come to you.”
Johanna
So true, Jill. And Ruth is a great inspiration.
